Mark Tinghino's market model is based on hundreds of separate cycles, which have lengths from one year to thirty years.  The research Mr. Tinghino has done for the past 33 years has yielded a wealth of statistical correlations between those cycles and major, intermediary and minor highs and lows in various markets, including futures and Forex.  Each cycle is identified by a code with a number and a letter, such as 1a, 2c or 3f.  The shorter length cycles have a lower number and the longer length ones a higher number.  Mr. Tinghino's book from Bloomberg Press, Tecnical Analysis Tools:  Creating a Profitable Trading System, explains in detail how the cycle boundaries can be utilized in combination with standard technical analysis methods.
